The Youth Symphony Orchestra Berlin was founded in 2010 by the pianist and conductor, Andreas Schulz. The members of the ensemble are students at the University of the Arts and the "Hanns Eisler" College of Music Berlin, as well as students in their final year at the Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach music "Gymnasium".
The Youth Symphony Orchestra Berlin performs regularly in the chamber
music hall of the Berlin Philharmonie, as well as at the Konzerthaus Berlin.
Within the framework of the festival at Britz Castle two operas have already
been performed. The orchestra also participated in Britz in the
"Beethoven Cycle". For the past three years, the Youth Symphony Orchestra Berlin has been the festival orchestra at the International Music Festival in Bad Rodachtal in Bavaria. In addition, it performed at the "Himmelpfort Classical Music Days", at the series of concerts - "Open Air
Classics" - in Buckow, and at the "Vitzenburg Castle Concerts". The orchestra appears regularly in the Max Taut hall in Berlin, and in 2012 it performed during the prize-winners' concert at the International Paul Hindemith competition.
